Outstanding trunk very strong and secure

I love the Extreme Trunk. It was a little tricky putting it together at first, but once I laid everything out and watched the video, it was easy. This is a very impressive trunk. It is strong enough to put heavy stuff on it as well as protect your gear. I love that this one protects the whole rear section to the backend.

It also looks great with the top off. I have only had it on for a few days and have gotten tons of compliments. I highly recommend this trunk over the others due to the security as well as its appearance looks like it came from the factory with your new Jeep.

This is the third item that I have gotten from EZ4X4 and all have been top of their class.

Needs improvement but overall good product

First the fitment isn't perfect. I had to remove the rubber weatherstripping in order for the trunk to close. Second, the welded nuts are very weak. I ended up shearing a nut on one of the back supports just by tightening the bolt.

Thirdly, the item in the promo video is not the same. There is no carpet on the top as was shown in the promo video.

Fourth the Instructions are horrible. I had to look at past iterations of the ez trunk to figure out how to put it together. The instructional video is also incomplete as it doesn't show some steps and shows a different version of the ez trunk with different bolt holes. And lastly I expected a snugger fit on the sides. For example the subwoofer side should have a whole cutout and fit tighter and incorporate the subwoofer. Instead it's just a regular panel with holes to allow sound to come through.

One more thing. The final foldable panel has 4 locks, 2 in the front and 2 in the back. I think it would be better if you had 2 locks on the middle panel and 2 locks on the final panel.

Other than that, I like the product. It's sturdy and doesn't make alot of noise when hitting bumps.

I came back to add an update. I want to thank ex4x4 customer service. They shipped me a new bracket at no cost. And have updated their PDF installation instructions which is way way more helpful than previously. I managed to reposition everything a bit better now which makes the fitment alot better. Also thanks to the new instructions I was able to use the included struts that help in lifting the deck and it keeps it more stable while it's flat. I love the look of it and the fact that it fold flat and gives you more of your cargo space. And when it's flat , the struts keep it from rattling and adds to its rigidity when making hard turns. I definitely recommend this over the other security trunks. I think the struts are a game changer. For anyone installing this. Do not forgo installing this part

Nice product - Installation Instructions Could be Better

Instruction video missed some critical steps and completely left out items such as the gas arm installation. The pdf version was lacking too. My 2024 Rubicon X did not match the video for the wrap around the roll bar.

Not as easy to install

The only video I could find was the qr code on a single piece of paper from the contents of the box.Video left out important steps.Why are there so many extra parts.There were struts in the box that were not on the video.We had to adjust a ton so the back door could close.I was at a point to where I was thinking I wasted so much money on this trunk.Anyway, it's in. Have to finish tomorrow because of running out of daylight.
