• Frequently Asked Questions In Regards To Installation, Use & Living w/the EZ4X4 Flip-Tops:
  Q: Do these add wind noise when flipped?
  A: No, no additional noise than you would have with your tops totally removed
  
  Q: Do I need to use the included bolts to secure the hinges?
  A: No, we include the bolts for those that may be doing level 2+ rock crawling
  due to flexing.  Some people will use the bolts for a more rugged look however they are not required for normal street use.
  
  Q: I know you say I don't need to use the included bolts if I don't want to but how can I trust the 3M VHB Tape by itself.
  A: As part of the installation process, proper surface prep is key (just like bodywork) and we cover this in our install videos and manuals.  We also include 3M94 Adhesion Promoter as part of the install process post surface prep.  Also, almost the entire surface where the hinge meets the top is covered by the 3M VHB Tape and we have never had a "fly-away", ever!  To illustrate the holding strength, one of our in-house Gladiators got T-Boned and rolled 3x...  Our crew was OK and egressed through the Flip Tops since the doors were pinned.  Long story short, your Flip Top isn't going anywhere once installed.
  
  
  Q: If I use the bolts, will they leak?
  A: No, they have self sealing grommet heads.
  
  Q: Will the panels scratch the rest of my roof when flipped?
  A: No, we include rubber bumper squares for the areas where the panels would touch and with the clamps in the back secure your panels and they will not move or shift around.
  
  Q: Can I paint the hinges?
  A: Yes! Again, it is only going to look as good as you prep them prior to paint so do it correctly or bring to your local body shop.
  
  Q: Can I powder coat the hinges?
  A: No! You will melt the 3M VHB Tape.
  
  Q: Can I run 1 panel open and one closed?
  A: Yes
  
  Q: Will a Flip Top change my driving/off-roading experience?
  A: Absolutely and if it doesn't, call us because we want to know why...?...
  
  Q: Can it be removed if I sell my vehicle?
  A: Yes but why would you?  It's a great selling point in the used car market.
